› $150,000,000 verdict in personal injury case
Dion Seymour Jr., a 57-year-old resident of Orrington, Maine, died last month when the all-terrain vehicle he was driving in a remote area rolled over on top of him. According to the Bangor Daily News, Seymour, an avid outdoorsman, left his home at 9 am to go hunting in his favorite hunting area near Bald Mountain in eastern Maine. When Seymour did not return by 9 pm that evening, his wife called authorities to report him missing.
A 27-year-old woman and her 5-year-old son have been released from the hospital after being injured when the ATV they were riding in rolled over. According to the Bangor Daily News, Janelle Grant of Island Falls, Maine, broke her arm in the rollover accident. Her son received deep cuts on his head that required stitches. Both were airlifted to a hospital in Bangor, Maine, following the accident on Sunday.
A class action claim has been filed against Yamaha Motor Co. following the death of a 13-year-old Canadian boy who lost his life when the Rhino he was driving rolled over and crushed him. The class action claim has been issued with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice for all Canadians who sustained personal injuries or loss of life while riding in a Rhino ATV.
October 18 marks two more deaths involving Yamaha Rhinos. According to DeSoto Times, two 11-year-old girls, named Lauren Dilworth and Emily Bates, were not wearing protective gear or seat belts, which were installed in the vehicle, when the 2005 ATV overturned and pinned the two girls’ bodies.
